Our vineyards in
and around Merano

Our winery encompasses a good three hectares in the best locations, mainly in and around Merano. Here our grapes ripen on sometimes very steep, sunny slopes under optimal climatic conditions and in excellent soil.

Each individual cru has its own taste character. Our goal is to transfer what each grape variety takes from the surrounding terroir into the bottle in the best possible way and in doing so authentically represent vintage after vintage, location and microclimate.

Organic? Goes
without saying!
Winemaking in harmony with nature

It is with great conviction that we cultivate our vineyards according to the ecological Bioland guidelines. These go far beyond the legal criteria prescribed by the well-known EU organic logo, which we supplement with other gentle measures.
We promote the colonisation of beneficial insects in our vineyards by planting natural vegetation. In addition, we fertilise our grapes using natural substances and boost their immunity using herbal extracts of chamomile and field horsetail as well as various compost preparations. Healthy and resilient vines are indeed the basis for first-class wines.

Genuine hard graft
Every year we decide how we can best tend the vines. One challenge is the variable climatic conditions in the vineyard, which can vary from year to year. For this reason, we rely on a wide variety of manual tasks in order to respond to the needs of the vines in the best possible way. These range from gentle, non-evasive pruning techniques to improve vitality and longevity through to meticulous foliage work to regulate solar exposure as well as hand-picking several harvests.
